The Best April Fool's Joke Ever

Seeing Google's name change today, reminded me of the time in college, when my boyfriend, Scott Stringfellow, played the best April Fool's joke on me. I was at BYU and had auditioned for a performing role at "Marriott's Great America," an amusement park that was opening in California. The tryouts were in the fall and I had already received a letter that said that I had passed the initial audition and had made it to the final round. Then the months passed by and no word. I was getting antsy about what I would be doing during summer break, and had expressed this often. Then lo and behold, I get a letter in the mail telling me that I had been accepted. I was overjoyed, shared it with all my roommates and then my bubble was burst. I think it was my sister, Kristie, that said, hey wait a minute...is that a fake postmark? And it was and the letterhead was fake and everything else in it. Blast! We hadn't even realized it was April 1st til this point. I got over it quickly and then in retaliation, we soaped the windows of Scott's car and stuck oreos to it. Can anyone top this?

I don't think I've ever heard this story. You auditioned to perform at Great America? Too funny.

Sorry those pics from the baptism are so small. I wonder why it did that.

Oh Sis, I am the one that got it in the mail and I walked up to campus to find you! You were in the library. I still don't know how I ever found you since there were no cell phones back then! I think we both noticed the fake postmark after inspecting it better and then Scott finally admitted it! I remember he wrote some funny things you guys did in the letter that made it a little suspicious too.
